Continue to bring in Box Tops for Education! This Friday is the deadline for the current drive. Keep collecting and sending them in!

This week in Reading Workshop we are review Making predictions on our Wednesday comprehension homework for the yellow, blue and green groups. The Red group will continue to work on this skill during Reading workshop and groups.

This week in Writer's Workshop we are discussing Small Moments. We've reviewed "big ideas" and how to condense our thoughts into one small moment. We will continue to use the writing process and publish stories.

In Word Study each student brought home a copy of their sort for this week and an activity sheet. Let me know if you have any questions!

In Math the students are working on developing skills that are prerequisites for addition and subtraction. This includes place value and number sense. The students will represent numbers concretely with manipulatives and visually by drawing in their notebooks.

In Science the students are continuing a unit on Matter and Energy. They are exploring matter with magnifying glasses and writing about their observations in their notebooks.

Ms. Nunez is currently teaching Science and Math. She is planning innovative, engaging and hands-on lessons for your children!

Have a great week!
Mrs. Caballero
