February 13-17
I hope everyone enjoyed the First Grade PE Program as much as I did! You could see the pride on their faces as they performed. They worked so hard to show off their skills. Coach Cavazos and Coach Madland are the best PE teachers around! Thanks for dancing with them at the end! It's their favorite part!

This week in Reading and Writing Workshop...
I am so proud of the hard work the students have been doing on their Research Projects! A huge Thank you to Mr. Bymark and Mrs. McDonald for coming in to help with research and writing as we work on our projects. We will finish up our Research Project and present to the class on Thursday and Friday. I'm going to try to Live Stream our presentations. We will do a dry run on Wednesday and I will send out the information on how to follow us!
This week in Math...
We will be working on Making 10. This can be a hard skill for kids. We will practice with manipulatives and ten frames. This skill can be extended when we think about numbers that make 100. These mental math strategies will help students solve problems and give them a "short cut" to their thinking.
This week in Social Studies...
This week we will think about Goods and Services that are in our community. We will think about how families meet their basic needs. We will also think about the roles that producers and consumers play in our community.
This week will be full of fun and excitement!
