Welcome
to First Grade!
Tips for a successful year…
· Arrive
on time: Students need to be seated and ready to learn by 7:45 am
(the classroom opens at 7:35 am). Students who arrive after 7:45 are marked
“tardy”.
· Getting
home:
If your child will be going home a different way, or if someone else is picking
up your child, please make sure you inform me of these changes. For safety
reasons, I do not want to release your child to an unauthorized person. For
your child’s safety, please email me or call the office to report any last
minute transportation changes.
· Communication: The
“Take Home” folder is one of our main links of communication. I am also
available by email (erin_caballero@roundrockisd.org)
and phone (512-464-5539). If you have an emergency that cannot wait until the
end of the day, please directly call the office and the office staff will
deliver the message to our classroom.
· Snack: Our
snack time is very brief, so please send a small, healthy snack daily with your
child.
· Personal
belongings: Please be sure to write your child’s name or initials, with
a permanent marker, on their jackets, backpacks, and lunchboxes.
· Birthdays:
Birthdays are celebrated the last 15 minutes of the day. You may bring a small,
individual treat to pass out to the children. Please let me know in advance, so
I can change our schedule that day.
· Daily
Folders: Please send your child to school each day with a backpack
and their “Take Home” folder. This is our main link between home and school, so
please check it daily.
· Visiting: If you
are visiting our classroom between the hours of 7:45 am and 2:45 pm, you must
sign in with the front office and wear a visitor’s badge. I am available to
talk or conference with you during my conference period (10:50-11:40) or
afterschool.
· Volunteering:
Classroom volunteer opportunities will begin after our Parent
Orientation/Curriculum Night.
I look
forward to a wonderful year with you and your child!
YAY, First grade!!
